So yeah, I did the classic British thing of losing the T-shirt at the slightest sign of sun and got roasted. Good fun day; catching prawns for my friend’s project, lunch on the beach and a quick snorkel. It was a shame the water was still a tad nippy for comfortable head holding under, but i did manage to see my first ever Greater Pipefish in the wild, which was a surprise as I thought they were a bit more tropical. They look like a seahorse that someone has straightened out:

Heh - a straightened out sea-horse! That's exactly what it looks like...
Getting sunburnt is a national sport - the trick is to try and burn the Union Jack into your skin. (Then shave your head and go and attend a BNP rally - they'll love you for it! :-) )
Nice one!
How's the cycling going?
And I don't think the Gerbil is going any further, I'll be finishing it on a latter post.
If it's any consolation, Neal needs it too.
One word - Betacaroten
And then - no more lobster. At least not unless it's the dead kind on your plate.
But hey, stop-sigh-red can be sexy, too. Depends on how you carry it... ;)
I feel like I should write the same comment to you as I did to Ant. The ozone is disappearing.
Actually - I've been burnt many times. Practically every trip somewhere warm and days out in the sun at home. The British thing is pretty much like the Canadian thing. I now know that I'm bound to get burnt somewhere or feel sick from the heat. I blame blood thickness resulting from living up North.
Smartbuddy, you DO live up to your nickname - you got it, it's Turkey... now it's the final battle between you and The patient for the trophy - the question being, WHERE is Turkey. The one within the closest range walks away with the GlobeTrotter for May 2008... :)
How about a new post?
:)
Ant- yeah, or go for the police academy 'DORK' on your sleeping friends chest!
AMC- Cycling is good thanks- Ive got first Triathlon of the year on Sunday, so we'll see how it goes.
Toast- Neal is probably one of the few people who might have skin that burns more than me! Hope trip is rocking.
Heart- thanks for the tip- ive never heard of this beta caroten- ill look it up- is it preventitive or cure?
Psyc- Yeah, weve had 2 weeks of sun here and everyone I know is looking burnt. Crazy, but it kinda signals the start of summer!!
Heart- just for you, the new post is out there...
